Interpreter Training Scholarships 2022

The Tasmanian Government is offering funding to help local interpreters enrol in the Interpreter Skills Online Training for NAATI Certification provided by RMIT.

The Tasmanian Interpreter Scholarships Program is designed to increase the supply and quality of accredited interpreters, particularly for languages in demand.

The scholarships are valued at $1,250 each and applications will close on 19 August 2022.

To be eligible to apply for a scholarship you must:
– be an Australian citizen, or have permanent residency (consideration will be given to applications from asylum seekers).
– live in Tasmania.
– meet the English requirements.
– speak one of the Priority Languages

Priority languages include:
Amharic, Anuak, Arabic, Bislama, Burmese, Cantonese, Chin- dialects, Dari, Hazaragi, Hindi, Japanese, Geko Karen, Karen, Korean, Mandarin, Mindat, Nepali, Oromo, Polish, Persian (Farsi), Russian, Somali, Samoan, Spanish, Swahili, Tagalog, Tigrinya, Tongan, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, AUSLAN.
