Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania (MRC Tas) is a not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting people from migrant backgrounds to settle successfully in Tasmania since 1979. Our services include support for older people and specialised settlement services, including youth work, health and wellbeing services, community development, migration support, and assistance with employment.
MRC Tas also provides support services for adults and children who have fled persecution, torture and war related trauma through the Phoenix Centre. These services include counselling, natural therapies and suicide prevention activities.
MRC Tas promotes the needs of multicultural communities through advocacy and working with mainstream services to support the delivery of responsive and culturally inclusive services.
MRC Tas provides the Commonwealth Government’s Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) across Tasmania, in collaboration with AMES Australia.
An equitable, just, culturally diverse and inclusive society.
To support and encourage culturally diverse community members to reach their potential.
Donate and you will make a difference
Our mission is to support and encourage culturally diverse community members to reach their potential. Many of our clients face challenges as they settle into a new community and our capacity to provide assistance where it’s needed most is greatly enriched by the generous financial support of others. Funds from donors are used to provide resources, activities, and opportunities which we would otherwise be unable to provide.
We welcome donations to support our current work and to provide additional services. As a registered charity all donations $2 and over are tax deductible.
