Learn about how dementia is experienced by people from diverse backgrounds, and best-practice approaches to care.
Cultural competence is now considered critical to appropriate health care service provision. It is also key to services meeting the Aged Care Quality Standards.
The Diversity in dementia Care workshop – presented by Dementia Tas and Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) Alliance Tasmania, a program of the Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania – provides participants with information about dementia prevalence and trends, how dementia is experienced by people from diverse backgrounds, and best practice for organisations who provide care to clients with dementia.
