Expressions of Interest – Voluntary Board Directors

Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania (MRC Tas) is calling for Expressions of Interest for Board Directors to be part of the board of governance.

Currently, the Board has vacancies for Directors who have experience in any one or more of the following skill areas: clinical governance, financial management, governance, community development, or business development.

This year we have up to four vacancies to fill, and we are looking for one of the new Directors to have specific clinical governance experience for our aged care and mental health programs. Other qualities that we are looking for in Board members include:

  • understanding and reflection of our community’s diversity
  • having a lived experience
  • values that align with the Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania.

MRC Tas has been helping migrants, humanitarian entrants and refugees to settle and thrive in Tasmania since 1979. We offer a wide range of services to people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Our services include support for older people and specialised settlement services, including the Humanitarian Settlement Program, youth work, mental health services, community development and employment programs.

A prime focus of MRC Tasmania is to promote the needs of multicultural communities and work in partnership and collaboration with other agencies to support the delivery of responsive and culturally inclusive services.

MRC Tasmania is based in Glenorchy, Hobart with an office in Launceston.
