Give Joy, Give Hope, Give a Future, Give Today

Belonging starts with the first day of school

And you can help a child step into that day with confidence.
Our End-of-Year Appeal supports children from refugee backgrounds with Back-to-School Packs filled with the essentials they need to learn and thrive.

Each pack includes a backpack, school supplies, a lunchbox, a drink bottle, a voucher for school shoes and a small activity – plus a Parent Diary to help parents document Tasmanian-specific information, GP contacts, wellbeing guidance and appointment reminders..

Your gift this holiday season ensures that every child can walk into school feeling prepared, included and supported.

Give a meaningful gift this Christmas.

Gift In Wills

Leave a legacy of welcome, belonging, and opportunity.

At MRC Tas, our mission is to work alongside people from refugee and migrant backgrounds so individuals and communities throughout Lutruwita/Tasmania thrive.

For many, the journey of settling into a new community comes with real challenges, and our ability to provide support where it’s needed most is made possible through the generosity of others.

By leaving a gift in your Will, you can help ensure that future generations receive the support, resources, and opportunities they need to build strong, connected lives in Tasmania.

Your bequest can fund services and initiatives that would otherwise go unfunded, from community-building activities and educational support to tailored resources and social inclusion programs.

Including MRC Tas in your estate planning is a meaningful way to continue supporting the causes and communities that matter most to you. It’s a legacy of compassion, empowerment, and hope.
Below are some essential tips to help you plan your bequest effectively.

Before Leaving a Bequest to MRC Tas , please ensure you have addressed the following

Use the correct legal name

When making a bequest, it is crucial to identify MRC Tas by the correct legal name. Our legal name is Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania.  Please include our A.B.N and, if possible, our address to ensure your gift is directed to us accurately.

ABN – 63 028 115 942
Address- Level 2, 1A Anfield Street
GLENORCHY TAS 7010

State a purpose for your gift

You have the option to leave your bequest unconditionally, allowing MRC Tas to use your gift where it is needed most. Alternatively, you can specify the purpose of your gift, such as supporting a particular program. Visit our Services page to explore the various services and programs we offer.

Discuss your Intentions with Family

Discussing your charitable bequest intentions with your family is important. This ensures they understand the significance of your gift and why it matters to you. In Tasmania, if dependants feel they have been left without adequate provision, they may challenge the estate under the Testators Family Maintenance Act 1912.

Speak to a Financial Advisor

We strongly recommend seeking professional estate planning advice to ensure your wishes are fulfilled. You can talk to a lawyer of your choice to assist you in making a plan for your estate, considering your family circumstances and charitable intentions.

To find out more or speak confidentially about leaving a gift in your Will, please contact communications@mrctas.org.au or call (03) 6221 0999.

Thank you for considering MRC Tas in your estate planning. Your generosity will make a difference for generations to come.
